Dorking Community Orchard

Founded in 2009, we have established a small but growing community orchard on a beautiful, 2 acre site on the outskirts of the town (next to the Ranmore Allotments). There are over 100 fruit trees planted, growing mainly apples, with an emphasis on local varieties, as well as pears and various stone fruits.

Each year we hold apple pressing events in Dorking and Denbies where you can help turn the press, have apples from your garden pressed into juice or buy very fresh juice on the day. We also hold events throughout the year like the Wassail in January and also summer picnics, to which all are welcome.

The site is free and open to everyone, and we welcome visitors. We are always keen to recruit new volunteers to help with planting, pruning, picking and general maintenance, and to join our various educational and horticultural events.
